Marilyn Davis

Marilyn Davis is the author of eVote® software which enables perfectly flat (non-hierarchical) democracy online. An electronic democracy activist, Dr. Davis has been developing and implementing software for direct democracy and collaborative news services since 1987. She and other volunteers at deliberate.com have provided voting, news, and email list services for a variety of organizations and individuals including farmers; schools; Zapatistas and other indigenous groups; and Kannon Do Zen Center.

An idealist, Marilyn believes: "Build it and they will come."

eVote is Marilyn's third independent software project. She wrote "Basic Primer" which was published by IBM, and "P.C. Planetarium" which was marketed through the Sierra Club Catalog. Marilyn has been teaching C Programming at UCSC Extension since 1989 and has made data-study contributions in Environmental Science and software contributions in Operations Research.

Dr. Davis earned her Bachelors and Masters in Math at the University of Denver, and her Masters and Ph.D. in Radio Astronomy at the University of California.

She is most proud of her work as a mother.
